Intelligence Every action of the student is tracked and stored in the database of Odysseas. This includes the answers they give to each question, the feedback they receive, the date and what time they perform the specific exercise, and whether their answer is correct or incorrect. This rich database of information provides the means for very personalized feedback for each student, such as customized exams, recommended additional exercises and the evaluation of individual and class performance. Technology The course uses a flexible module-structure which includes: (a) the Flash GUI, (b) the evaluative PHP module, and (c) the MySQL database. PHP and MySQL work extremely well together. More importantly, they both run on the server side, which makes the interaction between the two effortless and quick. Our custom-built Flash learning interaction also allows for good communication between Flash and PHP (and in turn to the database), which makes this online language tutor a unique, highly interactive system with infinite potential for intelligent tutoring.
